Carl Milton Sugarman, having been a lifelong resident of the State of Florida, attended the University of Miami and received a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in chemistry and biology. After serving four years in the United States Air Force where he attained the rank of captain, he attended the University of Miami Law School. While attending law school, he was the recipient of numerous scholastic and service awards including book awards for obtaining the highest grades in several real property courses. He graduated cum laude and received his Juris Doctor degree in 1973 and was admitted to the Florida bar in 1974 and has been in private practice for over 45 years.


Although his practice is primarily comprised of real estate and probate cases he has extensive experience in all areas of the law. Carl is a title insurance agent for Old Republic title insurance company and has vast experience in closing foreclosed and REO properties, cases involving title issues and code enforcement issues. In addition, he has represented numerous lending institutions and his representative clients include Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, (Freddie Mac), Household International, and HSBC Bank.


Carl was past president of the Coral Gables Bar Association as well as past president of the Attorneys Real Property Council of Dade County Inc. Carl has attained the highest rating obtainable by Martindale Hubbell, an attorneys rating service, and has been awarded a rating of AV Preeminent.
